Chandigarh girl Kashvee in Oz tour squad

Chandigarh’s capped woman cricketer Kashvee Gautam has been included in the Indian squad for the coming Australia tour, which will start next month. The Indian team will play three ODIs from February 24.

Kashvee, who honed her skills under coach Nagesh Gupta and plays for Gujarat Giants in the ongoing season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), had earned her maiden international call last year for the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and South Africa. She was expected to play in the ICC Women’s World Cup, but a knee injury shattered her dream. She also had the honour of being the first Indian woman cricketer to take 10 wickets in a single innings in the Women’s U-19 domestic season.

In 2023, she was part of the Emerging Asia Cup in Hong Kong where India A emerged winners. Her domestic dominance was highlighted in the North Zone T20 Trophy, where she claimed a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul. She was also recognised with the BCCI Naman Award for Best Junior Domestic Cricketer of the Year (2024).
