Man booked for outraging 28-yr-old tenant’s modesty

MOHALI: The Mohali police have booked a person on the charge of outraging the modesty of a woman, who was staying as a tenant in his house at Adarsh Colony in Balongi here.

The Mohali police have booked a person on the charge of outraging the modesty of a woman, who was staying as a tenant in his house at Adarsh Colony in Balongi here.

Giving information, Inspector Manphul Singh, Station House Officer of the Balongi police station, said the 28-year-old victim alleged that the accused, identified as Dharminder Singh, entered her room and tried to outrage her modesty.

In her complaint, the victim alleged that her husband had gone to the roof to attend a phone call at the time of the incident. “Taking advantage of the situation, the accused entered my room and grabbed me. Meanwhile, my husband came downstairs and a scuffle ensued between the two,” alleged the victim. She said in the scuffle, her husband also suffered injuries on his face. The police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 354, 323 and 506 of the IPC.
