AMBALA: The police have booked a man for allegedly raping a woman on May 14.

The police have booked a man for allegedly raping a woman on May 14. The suspect has been identified as Bunty.

In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged that Bunty had asked her to meet him at the Rai market in Ambala Cantonment on May 14 on the pretext of providing job. The suspect took her to Chandigarh, where he offered her cold drink laced with intoxicants. After she lost her consciousness, the suspect raped her.

She alleged that the suspect had also threatened her of dire consequences if she narrated the incident to anyone.

A case has been registered at the women police station under Sections 328, 376 and 506 of the IPC.
