Man found murdered in forest

Chandigarh, January 18

A man, in his mid-30s, was found murdered in the forest area near Colony No.4 here on Friday evening. He was half buried and his face seemed to be smashed with some object.

The body was spotted by residents of Colony No.4, who informed the police.The police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the crime spot. A team of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) also reached the spot and started investigation.

Sources said the body seemed to be bit by some animal. The victim was not carrying any document due to which his identity could not be established. The body was shifted to a mortuary at the the GMCH-32 where a post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow. DSP Pawan Kumar said efforts were on to identify the victim. The police have registered a case. —TNS
