Man guilty of sexually harassing minor

The court of Additional District and Session Judge held a 35-year-old man guilty of sexually harassing a 16-year-old girl by showing her pornographic content and committing wrong things with her.

The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on May 28.

According to the prosecution, accused Kishan Pal, a labourer, was booked under Section 354 of the IPC and Section 12 of the POCSO Act on July 28, 2018.

According to the FIR, the victim’s mother had visited NGO “child line” after her daughter told her that the accused had committed wrong things with her. After counselling, it was revealed that he used to sexually harass her daughter by showing pornography pictures and videos to her. Also, he beat her several times for resisting and he had committed wrong acts with her. The victim’s mother stated that the accused wanted to marry her second time, but when she came to know about it, she refused to marry him.

However, the defence counsel argued that the minor’s mother wanted to marry the accused. But when he refused to marry her, she implicated him in a false sexual harassment case of her minor daughter.
