Panchkula: Patiala man held for immigration fraud

The police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged fraud of over Rs 17 lakh on the pretext of sending a woman to Canada on a work permit.

The accused has been remanded to three days of police custody for further questioning.

Police identified the accused as Gurbindar Singh, a resident of Patiala. According to officials, he allegedly deceived the complainant by promising to arrange a Canadian work permit.
