Man jumps light, damages car

In a hit-and-run case, an unknown driver hit and damaged the Alto of a Tohana resident after allegedly jumping the red light at the Sector 9/10 traffic light point on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

Inderjeet Singh, a resident of Tohana, Fatehabad, in his complaint alleged that he was going towards Zirakpur via Shalimar roundabout and was waiting for green signal when an unidentified person driving a Maruti hit his Alto from behind after jumping the red light. He said his car was completely damaged from the rear and the accused eloped from the site along with his vehicle. A case has been registered under Sections 279, 336 and 427 of the IPC at the Sector 5 police station. — TNS
