Man’s body found floating in pond

AMBALA: The body of a 25-year-old man was found floating in a village pond under mysterious circumstances at Manka Village in Mullana here today.

The body of a 25-year-old man was found floating in a village pond under mysterious circumstances at Manka Village in Mullana here today. He has allegedly committed suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Sunny, a resident of Manka village. He was missing since March 13. A complaint under Section 346 of the IPC was lodged at the Mullana police station on March 15.

After getting information, forensic expert Dr GR Jain and the Mullana police reached the spot.

The body was taken to MM Hospital, Mullana, for post-mortem examination.

According to information, Sunny got married on March 10. He returned home on March 13 after performing some rituals at his in-law’s house. Around 11 pm, he went out of the house and didn’t return. He was the youngest in the family and was engaged in farming.

Sunny’s brother Ravikant said: “We got information around 9.30 am that a body was found floating in the village pond. There were no injury marks on the body. None of his belongings, including the wrist watch, wallet and ring, was stolen”.

The family members have not raised suspicion on anyone yet. They claimed that Sunny took the extreme step due to mental stress. The police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC.
