KHARAR:A man and his son were killed in a road accident near here on Tuesday night.

A man and his son were killed in a road accident near here on Tuesday night. The man’s wife was seriously injured in the mishap.

Bhagwant Singh, SHO of the Kharar Sadar police  staion, said Inder Mehta (30), a resident of Mahiduda village, was going to Landran on his motorcycle along with his wife Meena and son Sonu (7). When they reached near Sawara village, their motorcycle was hit by a car coming from the rear side. All three fell down and Inder and his son Sonu died on the spot.  Meena was taken to the PGI in a critical condition. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the Kharar Civil Hospital.

The driver of the car, Jatinder Preet Singh, was taken into custody by the police to save him from irate people who gathered at the spot. The people blocked traffic on the road. The SHO reached the spot after which the traffic was resumed. He said the police were registering  a case against the car driver.
