Athletes of DAV College, Sector 10, claimed the top three positions in the men’s category of the Panjab University inter-college marathon held on the university campus here today.
Sandeep Kumar completed the 42.195-km run in 2.33:29s to claim the gold medal. Narsingh Patel clocked 2.33:36s to claim the second position and Sahil Sagar claimed the third position by clocking 3.08:44s.
Sanjeev Kumar of Jagdish Chandra DAV College, Dasuya, finished fourth in 3.08:44s.
In the women’s category, KM Divyanka Chaudhary of DAV College claimed the top position by clocking 3.17:39s. Vikas Rani (3.31:12s) and Kavita Rani (3.37:15s), both from GTB College, Dasuya, won the second and third positions, respectively. Sakshi Mehra (3.38:20s) of Dev Samaj College and Ramandeep Kaur (3.44:34s) of DAV College settled for the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
SD College, PU campus win chess titles
Meanwhile, GGDSD College, Sector 32, won the Panjab University inter-college chess championship (men) held at Dev Samaj College, Sector 36. Government College, Ludhiana, claimed the second position and the PU campus team bagged the third position.
In the women’s category, the PU campus team won the event. GGDSD College claimed the second position and the Government College for Girls, Ludhiana, finished third at the championship.
