MC Chief Engineer reviews sewage treatment plant in Chandigarh

The Chief Engineer of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, Sanjay Arora, today conducted a detailed inspection of the sewage treatment plant (STP) at Maloya to review its operational efficiency, sewage treatment processes and environmental compliance standards. Senior officers and engineers of the corporation accompanied him during the visit.

The Chief Engineer inspected major units of the plant, including inlet works, aeration tanks, clarifiers, sludge handling systems, laboratories and treated water discharge arrangements.

Later, he reviewed the progress of the tertiary treated water project under AMRUT 2.0. Stressing timely completion, he directed officials to expedite works.
