In a firm action to ensure obstruction-free public spaces, the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation today impounded six abandoned vehicles from Bank Square, Sector 17.

The enforcement drive was carried out under the directions of MC Commissioner Amit Kumar, as part of the corporation’s continued efforts to keep city markets and public areas free from encroachments and unauthorised occupation.

During the drive, the enforcement team impounded six dumped cars belonging to Indian Bank that had been occupying public parking space for a prolonged period. The vehicles were removed to restore smooth movement and ensure proper utilization of parking infrastructure in the busy commercial hub of Sector 17. The MC also issued a challan to the bank for unauthorised occupation of public space.
