The core committee of the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA), Modern Housing Complex (MHC), Mani Majra, today met city MP Kirron Kher and submitted a memorandum regarding pending works in the area. She assured all works would be completed soon.
The committee comprised RWA president Col Gursewak Singh; SC Luthra, senior vice-president; and SA Qureshi, general secretary.
Col Gursewak Singh said the work on the railway underbridge was moving at a snail’s pace for the past a year and a half, causing considerable inconvenience to residents.
“Even an alternative track has not been constructed properly. Such public works must be completed on a priority by the authorities,” he said.
They said the installation of close-cicuit television (CCTV) cameras and the replacement of water supply pipes were yet to be replaced.
The other issues that were raised included the starting of a Sampark Centre, waterlogging and bus queue shelters.
They also sought the construction of speed-breakers near the main market to control traffic. Col Gursewak Singh said in the past one year, the number of safai karamcharis was reduced from 48 to 30 in Mani Majra complex.
