Minerva defeat Namdhari 4-0 in football league

The Minerva Academy Football Club (FC) continued their undefeated run in the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) Junior League by defeating Namdhari FC 4-0 to complete the win over their opponents and extend their record to six wins in equal number of matches.

With this victory, Minerva sit comfortably at the top of the points table with 18 points. Despite playing three matches in the last six days, Minerva lads struck in just the second minute. From a well-hit corner kick, Greatson Hidam rose sharply to head home and give the visitors an early advantage. In the 42nd minute Namdhari’s skipper Karanbir Singh inadvertently turned the ball into his own net under pressure, doubling Minerva’s lead.

In the second half, Minerva maintained their attacking intensity. Lunjalaithang Haokip added the third goal. The final nail in the coffin came through Laishram Mahesh, who made it 4-0, sealing another comprehensive victory for the side.
