Chandigarh, July 17

A day after a group of miscreants vandalised a club, Boom Box Café, in Sector 9 here, the police have registered a case against unknown persons at the Sector 3 police station.

The miscreants, who came in four cars, went on rampage and damaged the club property. One of the employees, Mahander, was also injured after the accused entered the club and thrashed him. He was admitted to the GMSH-16. The accused pelted stones and even threw flower pots at the main entry of the club.

Sources said the attack at the club was fallout of an altercation between bouncers and a few youths over entry to the club on Sunday night. It is said that the miscreants returned on Monday evening and attacked the bouncers who had to escape from the spot.

The police have been provided with the registration numbers of the cars in which the accused escaped. The police have taken the footage of CCTV cameras installed outside the club.

Mohan Kumar, who works as a bouncer, gave a complaint to the police following which the accused were booked under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 448 (house trespass), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC. — TNS
