Missing Zirakpur woman's body found wrapped in plastic sheet near Rajpura
The Punjab Police have booked four Banur youths on the charges of murdering a 23-year-old girl whose body was found wrapped in a plastic sheet near Rajpura on Monday night.
Victim Mitali, a resident of Badal Colony in Zirakpur, was found dead with injury marks, following which her father Sohan Lal filed a complaint at the Zirakpur police station.
The accused have been identified as Sultan Mohammed, Raj, Amandeep and Rohit Kumar.
Sohan Lal alleged in his complaint that Sultan was harassing his daughter for a long time and forcibly took her away in his car on March 7 and hatched a conspiracy to kill her.
The complainant alleged that the matter was brought to the notice of Investigating Officer Ashok Kumar the next day, “but the police did not listen to him and expressed inability to act over it”.
“She has only left home, not died yet,” the complainant alleged as having been told by the Investigating Officer.
Sohan Lal alleged in the FIR that the accused kidnapped her in an act of conspiracy, killed her mercilessly and tried to dispose of the body to destroy evidence. He demanded that the matter be probed further to unearth any other person’s involvement in the conspiracy and arrest the accused as soon as possible to give justice to his dead daughter.
Mohali SP (Rural) Manpreet Singh said, "A murder case has been registered against the four accused by name. The police are investigating the matter and all the accused will be arrested soon."
