Senior government officials have conveyed to Karan Aujla’s management that no profanity, sexual innuendoes, or objectionable content will be acceptable at his Mohali concert on Saturday.

“This has been made clear to his team,” a senior police official said.

Punjab authorities have earlier come under fire from multiple organisations for allowing musical performances at religious functions.

Social activist Panditŕao Dharenavar today approached the Punjab State Women’s Commission and Mohali administration seeking directions to the 29-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter to abstain from some songs which portray woman in bad light and promote liquor consumption.

This step comes after the "Tateeree" controversy. Rapper Badshah, also known as Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, has been in the news after the Haryana State Commission for Women ordered his arrest for failing to appear in person by the specified deadline in connection with allegedly objectionable lyrics in his Haryanvi music video, “Tateeree.”
