Mohali DC takes stock of situation

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Gurpreet Kaur Sapra on Saturday visited the areas in the constituency to take stock of the situation. Gurpreet Kaur said the situation in Dera Bassi was peaceful so far and the restriction on the movement of people had been lifted across the city. The security forces have already been deployed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order and instil a sense of security among the residents, so that they can carry out their day-to-day activities without fear. She has appealed to the masses to maintain peace and harmony.

Over 350 vehicles pressed into service to transport dera premis back home: Sapra

Seeing the exodus of the dera followers, which had started around 7 pm from the Panchkula side towards Zirakpur on Friday, the administration had to arrange at least 350 vehicles, including buses, trucks and other modes of transport, by midnight to transport them out of the district immediately. All vehicles made multiple rounds from Zirakpur to Banur and Ambala for the purpose. Certainly, we did not want them to stay here at any cost — Gurpreet Kaur Sapra
