The Mohali Municipal Corporation has launched a month-long campaign — Catch the Rain-2026 — to promote rainwater harvesting and water conservation through active public participation.
The drive aims to create awareness among residents about the importance of conserving water, protecting water bodies, augmenting groundwater resources and adopting sustainable water management practices to ensure long-term water security.
As part of the campaign, the Municipal Corporation will organise a series of awareness and community outreach activities, including Jal Samvad programmes, plantation and cleanliness drives around water bodies.
A comprehensive social media awareness campaign will also be undertaken to encourage greater public engagement. The Municipal Corporation has appealed to residents, educational institutions, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), industrial units, commercial establishments and civil society organisations to actively support the initiative.
