Chandigarh, November 25

Mohali Police issued an advisory against taking the Chandigarh-Zirakpur-Delhi and the Patiala-Zirakpur-Chandigarh routes, where an ongoing farmers’ protest march to the national capital has caused traffic snarls.

The advisory, issued on Wednesday evening, suggests alternatives---Chandigarh-Panchkula-Nada Sahib-Yamunanagar-Delhi route for Delhi, and the diversion from Chhatt Light point towards Mohali to Chandigarh.

This is the full text of the advisory.

Due to farmers (sic) agitation on 26-11-2020 and 27-11-2020, the commuters travelling from Chandigarh/Punjab towards Delhi/Ambala might face heavy traffic congestion on the roads.

We humbly suggest not( sic) to undertake non essential travel towards these routes:

1. Chandigarh-Zirakpur-Delhi

(Alternative route :Chandigarh-Panchkula-Nada sahib-Yamunanagar-Delhi)

 2. Patiala-Zirakpur-Chandigarh

(Diversion from Chhatt Light point towards Mohali)
