Kuldip Singh Gill, president,  Bright RWA, Sector 21-B, said his brother Mohinder Singh was out on a walk when a dog bit him on a leg near Nirankari Darbar. “We went to the Sector 19 dispensary, but there were no injections. We had to purchase it from the market,” said Gill. TNS

Two held under ndps act

Chandigarh: The crime branch of the UT police arrested Anil Kumar Atwal, a resident of Burail village, near Gaushala in Sector 45 and recovered 50 injections of buprenorphine and pheniramine drugs from him on Friday. In another case, the police nabbed Rahul Nainwal, also a resident of Burail, with six grams of heroin. TNS

3 caught with stolen bikes

Ambala: The police have arrested three persons and claimed to have recovered two stolen motorcycles from them. According to the police, Anuj Kumar of Ambala City had reported that Manjit Singh, a resident of Shekhpura village here, had stolen his motorcycle from the SDM office in Ambala City on June 19. The suspect was held with the motorcycle and sent to judicial custody, the police said. In another case, Honey and Rahul of Ambala Cantonment were held with another stolen motorcycle, officials said. Kanwaljit Singh of Balana village near here had reported that the suspect had stolen his motorcycle from Ambala City on June 18. The duo will be produced before a court on Sunday. TNS

Barara resident held for assault

Ambala: The district police have arrested Javed, alias Gony, of Barara for assaulting a local resident with swords and rods. According to the police, Ritik of Barara had reported that Gony, along with his other accomplices, had assaulted him with swords, rods and other sharp weapons in Barara on June 19. The suspect was produced before a court, which ordered to release him on bail, the police said. TNS

One arrested with pistol

Ambala: The district police have arrested Tara, alias Goru, a resident of Naraingarh, and claimed to have recovered an illegal .312 bore country-made pistol from him, officials said here on Saturday. According to the police, the suspect was held during the checking of suspicious elements at Nabipur village in Naraingarh. He was sent to judicial custody, the police said. TNS

Girl among 2 go missing

Ambala: Two persons, including a teenaged girl, have reportedly gone missing from different parts of Ambala, the police said on Saturday. According to information, Vinod Kumar of Mullana had reported to the police that his 19-year-old daughter had left home on June 20 but did not return. Similarly, Karan of Baldev Nagar here reported that his 25-year-old brother Rahul had gone missing from his home on June 19. The police have lodged missing reports and launched a manhunt to trace them. TNS

1,386 challaned for violations

Ambala: Cracking the whip against traffic violators, the district police on Saturday challaned 1,386 drivers for various traffic violations, officials said here. According to the police, 473 traffic offenders were issued e-challans, 222 were challaned for overloading, 41 for speeding and 617 were challaned for various other offences. Vehicles of 33 habitual offenders were impounded, the officials said. TNS
