Punjab's Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana: Top chains Fortis, Max not part of empanelled hospitals

The Punjab Government launched Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY) today. Under the new plan, each family has been assured Rs 10 lakh health cover per annum.

However, top multi-specialty hospital chains of the state such as Fortis and Max will not be part of the empanelled hospitals under the scheme, Health Department officials said. "They may be part of the scheme in future," the officials added.

Both the hospital chains authorities were part of the advanced discussions with the government till recently.

As many as 65 lakh households will be eligible for the scheme.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said, "The beneficiaries will be eligible for cashless treatment from Day 1 after registration."

The health cards may take a week or two for delivery.
