Music lovers converge on Kalagram in Chandigarh as virtuosos belt out Raginis

A brainchild of the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the breezy event on Day 3 witnessed a huge rush of Ragini lovers.
The laid-back evening went off to a musical start with the soulful rendition by Inderjeet Kundiyan and party, who mesmerised the audience for over an hour, during which he sang some favourite numbers on persistent demand from his hardcore fans. He kept the audience spellbound with his hit Ragini numbers, including “Dharti Haryane ki, veeran ki pehchan, ‘Ragini bole sachai, jaage pura jahan” among others.
Another prominent Ragini singer and a heartthrob of the young and the old, Sonu Bhagana (and party) regaled the audience. He started with his popular number “Lakh takke ka he maa meri Bijna, heri koi dharya-e-purana he, khadiye mein beejan laagi, he maa meri baag mein ri...” and “Aaj ka bolya yaad rakhiye Bikram bhai ka, duniya mein tai kho dega tanai beham lugai ka...” among others, which earned him ample admiration.
Another Ragini legend Narender Dangi (and party) captivated the audience with his popular numbers, one after the other. His theme composition unfolded the saga of Veer Vikramaditya, presented in his inimitable style, which evoked a thunderous applause from the spirited music lovers. He doled out “Ke supne ka jikar karun, supne mein mota tala, Khande Rao pari ke sung mein raat banya tabley wala...and “Ghagra lehrave chhori, gaon ki shaan barha, maati ki khushboo se Haryana pehchan batave...”
