Chandigarh: Nagaland cricket team logs win in U-23 tourney

Nagaland registered a hard-fought 15-run victory over Mizoram in the Women’s U-23 One-Day Trophy Plate match played under the hosting of UT Cricket Association (UTCA) at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh. Batting first, Nagaland posted 212 in 49.5 overs, powered by Vipeni’s 82. Vipeni later starred with the ball, claiming a match-winning five-wicket haul. In reply, Mizoram were bowled out for 197 in 48.3 overs despite Jacinta’s valiant 97.

Meanwhile at the GMSSS, Sector 26 grounds, Arunachal Pradesh defeated Manipur by 67 runs. Arunachal posted a competitive 211/9 in 50 overs. In reply, Manipur were bowled out for 144 in 40.1 overs despite Taniya Ningthoujam’s fighting 66. Chukhu Anam starred with the ball by claiming a brilliant six-wicket haul.

In the third match, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, Sikkim registered a commanding 88-run victory over Meghalaya. Electing to bat, Sikkim piled up an imposing 308/5 in 50 overs with magnificent 164 off 133 balls by Samayita and Nandika (85). In reply, Meghalaya managed 220/8.
