SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh hosted its first session under the ‘Leadership Talks’ series, featuring former Haryana chief secretary and retired IAS officer Keshni Anand Arora. The event, hosted by the institute’s Foresight Forum, highlighted NMIMS’ commitment to blending academic learning with real-world leadership experiences.
The programme began with a Saraswati Vandana, followed by the felicitation of Arora by campus director Dr Jyotsna Singh.
In her welcome address, Singh said, “Principles can be taught in classrooms, but leadership is learnt in the field,” adding that NMIMS seeks to nurture leaders “who shape society with integrity and courage”.
Arora, a 1983-batch IAS officer who has held key posts including chairperson of the Haryana Water Resources Authority and additional chief secretary (Revenue and Disaster Management), delivered an interactive session on “Lessons on Leadership”. She has also served as MD of state-level corporations, and regional deputy director general of UIDAI, where she contributed to Aadhaar implementation and Direct Benefit Transfer systems across northern India.
