No path for pedestrians
A manhole constructed on a footpath by a private telephone company for laying underground optical fiber cables has caved in behind the PCA stadium in Mohali. As a result, the pedestrians have to walk on the main road by risking their lives. The civic body and the private firm should repair the manhole at the earliest. Col TBS Bedi (Retd), Mohali
Man-made jam
Heavy rush is often witnessed outside Centra Mall in Industrial Area, Phase 1, Chandigarh. One of the reasons behind this is that cars are screened by security staff just at the entry gate of the mall. This move results in massive jam on the entire stretch and hampers movement of traffic. The traffic Police and UT Administration must ask the mall authorities to screen vehicles within their premises and commuters should not be allowed to halt on the road. Sanjay Chopra, Mohali
Dogged, morning walkers stay indoors!

Morning walkers fearing for their lives have stopped coming out of their houses due to increase in dog bite cases in the city. The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation should immediately act to control birth rate of stray dogs and send them to dog ponds. Sukhpal Singh, Chandigarh
