Mohali, July 17

In a drug case involving Punjab Police CIA Inspector Inderjit Singh, a local court issued a notice to the Superintendent of the Ferozepur Jail for not producing one of the accused — Saheb Singh — before the court on Tuesday.

The court took serious note of repeated absence of Saheb Singh during previous court hearings and directed the Superintendent to produce the ex-serviceman in the court on July 26.

Inspector Inderjit Singh, along with his gunman Ajaib Singh, was arrested by the Special Task Force. A case under Sections 218, 384, 466, 471 and 120B of the IPC and appropriate sections of the Arms Act against Inderjit Singh, Ajaib Singh, Saheb Singh and his brother-in-law Balwinder Singh has been registered. The police had also recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition.
