Panchkula, July 23
Scores of nursing officers working at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 here wore black badges as a mark of protest against the state government today. They are demanding a nursing allowance of Rs 7,200 and recognition of nurses as Group B employees.
Vineeta Bangar, president of Haryana Nursing Welfare Association, said “Nursing staff under the Central government are paid Rs 9,000 as nursing allowance. We want the state government to provide us at least Rs 7,200 a month.”
She said pointed out that the protest did not hamper work at the hospital. “On Thursday, we will hold a two-hour strike; only a few nurses will work in the Emergency.”
