Officials of the district administration today said strict measures were being taken to check pollution under the Tandrust Punjab Mission. They said the traffic police in the region would issue challans for using pressure horns.
Naman Marken, Assistant Commissioner (General), during a meeting with the road safety committee at the district administrative complex, said challans should be issued to all commuters using pressure horns.
Officials said the police issued challans to those using pressure horns during special drives on Monday and Tuesday. They added that the police, along with the Punjab Pollution Control Board, issued 714 challans.
