Taking a serious note of the attack by an unidentified person on Masroor Ahmed (20), who was as student of Adesh Institute of Technology in nearby Ghauran village on September 21, former Chief Minister (CM) of Jammu & Kashmir Omar Abdullah appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, to take action in this regard.
In his tweet to the Punjab CM he stated: “I request Punjab CM @capt_amarinder sahib to kindly look into this matter urgently and take necessary steps to reassure students, who have left their home state of the J&K to study in Adesh and other institutes in Mohali.”
Notably, Masroor Ahmed was attacked on his neck with a stick by some unknown person. The victim alleged that the accused, who was wearing a red turban, also attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon.
The victim told the police that he had taken admission in BBA (Semester I) in the college a week ago. As per his complaint the Kharar police have registered a case under Sections 323 and 24 of the IPC against unknown person.
According to information, the office of the Punjab Chief Minister took action in this connection. Kharar DSP and Tehsildar visited the institute and started an investigation on Wednesday.
According to information Kashmiri students protested against the incident and demanded proper action into this connection.
