One arrested with 60 liquor bottles

The Mubraikpur police arrested one person and recovered 60 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession here today. The accused was identified as Bharat Jain, a resident of Mubarikpur.

Officials said acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a transport office, near Surya Palace. The team arrested the accused and recovered bottles of illicit liquor from him. During interrogation, the accused revealed to the police that he used to sell it to youths, hooked up to liquor, at higher prices.

Meanwhile, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Excise Act at the Dera Bassi police station in this regard. The accused was produced in the court, which remanded him to judicial custody today.
