A man has been booked following a celebratory fire during a birthday party at a hotel in Dhakoli on July 16.

A purported video of the suspect, Vikram Sharma, firing three shots in the air with weapons in both hands has gone viral on social media.

The suspect claimed that he had bought the air gun for around Rs 52,000 and paid for it online. He claimed that the gun does not need a licence to operate it.

On the basis of a viral video, a case under Section 125 of the BNS and the Arms Act has been registered, the police said, adding that there was a blanket ban on celebratory firing during marriage and other ceremonies.
