The district police conducted raids at various locations and detained 60 suspects and persons wanted in criminal cases on the second day of Operation Prahar 2.0 on Tuesday.
SSP Shubham Agarwal said the operation was being conducted to curb drug trafficking and gang-related crimes. Police teams laid nakas for checking and conducted raids in identified sensitive and crime-prone areas across the district. He said youths, who had strayed into crime, would be given an opportunity to surrender. Those involved in serious offences would face strict legal action. He added that the police had also prepared a list of criminals’ associates.
Rakesh Yadav SP(D) said special surveillance was being maintained on social media platforms to prevent the spread of content that promoted crime. He asserted that the police were committed to maintaining peace and ensuring a safe environment for residents of the district.
