The district reported another Covid death on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 72. A 76-year-old woman from Sector 9, who was suffering from hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease, succumbed to the disease. 

The district reported 146 fresh cases, taking the overall count to 5,328. 

The fresh cases include 11 from Sector 7, 10 from Pinjore, seven each from Sector 15, Sector 2 and Sector 8, six each from Kalka, Sector 16 and Sector 4, five each from Khera Sita Ram, the MDC, Sector 5, Sector 20, Sector 21, Sector 26, Sector 6 and Sector 9, four each from the MDC, Sector 4, Sector 10, Sector 11, Sector 12-A and Sector 25, three each from Kot, Sector 12 and Sector 14, two each from Manakpur, Sector 19 and Surajpur, and one each from Amravati Enclave, Bir Ghaggar, Buddanpur, Chandimandir, Hangoli, Haripur, Karanpur, Khatoli, Mouli, Nada Sahib, Old Panchkula, Power Colony, Sector 18, Sector 27, Tipra and Tagra. 

While 1,153 cases are still active, 4,103 persons have been cured or discharged.  

Panchkula has so far conducted 61,165 Covid tests.
