Panchkula police all geared up for peaceful Holi
The Panchkula police have made elaborate arrangements to maintain law and order on Holi tomorrow.
As many as 320 cops would keep a vigil under the supervision of six ACPs. Additionally, all SHOs and outpost in-charges will monitor activities in their respective areas.
To regulate traffic and prevent lawlessness, 35 security checkpoints (nakas) have been set up across the city. Sixteen of these are equipped with alco-sensors to identify and penalise drunk drivers. Furthermore, 18 emergency response vehicles and 25 quick response teams will keep a close watch on anti-social elements.
The police administration has urged citizens to immediately report any drunken misbehaviour or unruly conduct during Holi at the nearest police station, outpost, or on ‘112’.
Cops have been directed to crack down on modified Bullet bikes with silencers that create firecracker-like sound.
Police Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Arya has warned strict action against anti-social elements.
