In a special campaign aimed at strengthening road safety and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations, teams from traffic police station city and Surajpur, Panchkula traffic police, conducted an enforcement drive across the urban areas of Panchkula and Pinjore. The drive was led by PSI Abhishek and PSI Varinder Kumar.

During the operation, action was taken against 10 auto-rickshaw drivers for carrying passengers beyond the permitted capacity. Police also issued 43 online challans and 37 offline challans for triple riding. In total, 849 motorists were fined for various traffic violations, including displaying caste-indicative words on vehicles. Two vehicles were impounded in accordance with the rules, including a Bullet motorcycle that was fined Rs 39,500.

Apart from enforcement, officers also sensitised motorists about the importance of adhering to traffic rules and practising safe driving.

Manpreet Singh Sudan, DCP Traffic/Crime, stated that road safety remains the top priority of Panchkula traffic police and that strict action against violators will continue. He urged the public to follow traffic norms and encourage others to do the same to help prevent road accidents.
