Raahil Rai, a final-year student of Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh, reportedly topped the Tricity by securing 99.95 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT 2025), the results of which were declared today.
“My entire preparation revolved around attempting as many mock tests as possible,” said Rai.
Kkanika from Army Institute of Law, Mohali, got 99 percentile, while Jia of NMIMS-Chandigarh scored 98.96 percentile. Gurnoor from Ashoka University got 98.68 percentile, Ankit Kumar of GGDSD SD College, Sector 32, 98.6 percentile, Smridhi Aggarwal of Panjab University 98.5 percentile, Amrinderpreet of PEC 98.41 percentile,
Dhruv Kundrai of Chitkara University 98.24 percentile and Abhinav Gupta of the PU 97 percentile.
Kkanika said, “I concentrated on strengthening my weak areas and practised consistently, especially in the quantitative section, to eliminate frivolous mistakes.”
Commenting on the Tricity’s result , Hirdesh Madan, co-founder of Hitbullseye, said, “This year, city toppers are from diverse backgrounds including engineering, law, medical, humanities and commerce. It is a welcome change.”
CAT is a national-level competitive exam for MBA that opens the doors for the 21 IIMs and other top B-schools in India. There are two IIMs in this region — IIM-Amritsar and IIM-Sirmaur. Chandigarh’s leading MBA college, UBS (Panjab University) also admits students based on CAT scores.
Around 6,500 students from the Tricity appeared in the exam on November 30.
