PGI Joint Action Committee to hold protest rally
The Joint Action Committee, PGI, recently held a meeting and reviewed the situation on alleged vindictive acts of the PGI Administration to allegedly harass and victimise the representatives of JAC and contract workers.
The representatives of various union categories such as hospital attendants, sanitation staff and security guards have unanimously resolved to lodge their protest against the administration if the PGI Director failed to take action on the concerns raised by them. The JAC decided to lodge its protest after the duty hours on February 10 by taking a rally at 3 pm from outside PGI to rally grounds via Sector 15.
The JAC will call off the protest rally if the PGI administration reinstates four security guards who were removed abruptly on December 2, revokes notices issued to 33 contract workers, revokes transfer orders of representatives of JAC and marks attendance of security guards from November 16 to November 29, it added.
