The Pinjore police seized an earth-moving machine and a truck during a raid to check illegal mining near Girida village here. According to the police, they had received information about the illegal mining on Wednesday afternoon.

Upon receiving the information, an anti-illegal mining team raided the site.

On seeing the police team, the accused tried to flee with the machinery. Panchkula Police Commissioner Shivas Kaviraj said, “Environmental protection and maintaining law and order are among the top priorities for the Panchkula police.”

“No individual or gang involved in such activities will be spared. In coordination with the police and related departments, strict and consistent action will be taken against illegal mining,” he added.
