Platform No. 1 closed for 15 days for infra upgrade in Chandigarh
RLDA will carry out upgrading and development work
Platform No.1 at the Chandigarh railway station will remain closed for trains for the next 15 days, beginning from January 20 to February 3.
The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) will be carrying out upgrading and development work here at the railway station. Railways officials said the foundation work of roof structure will be carried out during this period. Trains operating on platform No. 1 will arrive on other platforms or their scheduled berthing will be shifted. Passengers are advised to check the latest information and schedule of the trains before arriving at the station,” officials said.
Vande Bharat (train No. 20977/20978) platform has been changed from platform No. 1 to No. 6, the arrangement will remain the same in future also. Vande Bharat (train No. 22447) scheduled berthing has been changed from platform No.1 to No. 2. Shatabdi (train No. 12006) scheduled berthing has been changed from platform No.1 to No. 2. Shatabdi (train No. 120011) scheduled berthing has been changed from platform No.1 to No. 2.
Shatabdi (train No. 120046, except Wednesdays) scheduled berthing has been changed from Platform No.2 to No. 5. Shatabdi (train No. 120045, except Wednesdays) scheduled berthing has been changed from Platform No.1 to No. 6.
Meanwhile, two baggage X-ray machines — one on the Chandigarh side and other on the Panchkula side — at the railway station became operational today. The facility was not functional at the railway station for the past sometime.
