The Stanza Circle, Poetry Society of the PG Department of English, GGDSD College, in collaboration with the Chandigarh Literary Society, organised a captivating poetry slam competition on the themes of “Burning Bridges” and “Invisible Battles” here today. College Principal Dr Ajay Sharma commended Poetry Society and the Department of English for organising literary events. Pooja Sarin, head, PG Department of English, and Dean, Cultural Affairs, along with Dr Sharma, felicitated the panel of judges that included Rachna Singh, Sonia Chauhan, Dr Archana Sahni and Harender Kumar.

Over 25 participants presented original works during the competition. More than 100 students from various departments were present on the occasion. Poems were presented in various languages, offering a platform for diverse voices to express themselves. The competition's themes prompted deep reflections on personal struggles, relationships and resilience, resonating strongly with both the audience and participants.

The winners of the competition were Namanpreet Kaur (first), Charulata (second) and Sanya (third). The event was convened by Dr Poorva Trikha and organised by Balpreet Singh.
