MOHALI: To get clues in the Neha Shoree murder case, a team of the Mohali police, which is assisting the special investigation team (SIT), today procured more documents and records from the victim’s office.

Mohali, April 3

To get clues in the Neha Shoree murder case, a team of the Mohali police, which is assisting the special investigation team (SIT), today procured more documents and records from the victim’s office.

A key member of the SIT said their objective was to “clear all suspicion” in the case. “Though it is an ‘open and shut’ case, all angles, including that of the drug mafia, are being probed,” he said.

Yesterday, the SIT had reconstructed the murder scene and collected some documents from Neha’s office.

He said the victim’s family had also raised some doubts and wanted a high-level probe. “So far, nothing fishy has come out in the case. The scrutiny of the mobile phone call details of the accused also gave no clues of anything being amiss,” said the official.

Kin of Neha Shoree have demanded a CBI inquiry into her murder, suspecting the possible involvement of a staff member of Neha’s department in the crime. — TNS
