A local court has acquitted Deepak Gupta and Piyush, accused of cheating a man by promising him a government job. The case dates back to 2018 when Mansa Ram, a peon in Ambala Court, filed a complaint against unknown persons.

According to the complaint, Ram's friend Monu had applied for a Chowkidar post in Faridabad Court. A person claiming to be an Assistant Registrar of the High Court, Om Parkash Gupta, contacted Monu, saying his name was on the waiting list and offered to secure the job for Rs 40,000.

The accused, who were later identified as Piyush and Deepak, were arrested and charged under sections 420 (cheating) and 419 (impersonation) read with section 34 (common intention) of the IPC. However, the court acquitted them, stating that the prosecution failed to prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt.

Abhinay Goel, counsel of the accused argued that the accused were falsely implicated   in the case. After hearing of the arguments the Court acquitted the accused. The court said that prosecution has failed to prove charges beyond reasonable doubt.
