Polio drops administered to 25,720 children in dist

As many as 25,720 children up to the age of 5 years were administered polio drops in the three-day migratory pulse polio drive which concluded on Tuesday. 

Civil Surgeon Dr Harish Malhotra said the three-day polio drive covered the migratory population in the high-risk areas which included slums, brick kilns and construction sites in the district. 

He said the district health department had successfully completed the target to administer polio drops to children. 

He gave special thanks to all the health teams which included anganwadi and ASHA workers, ANM, NGO and doctors who supervised the three-day activity. 

To cover all the children of slum population, 196 health teams, which included 12 mobile teams were constituted for the campaign. He said, “We have successfully achieved the target during the three-day house-to-house activity by the health officials.”
