Announcing his arrest today, officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh Zonal Unit, confirmed that Baaz Sran is actually Jagseer Singh, alias Kala, a resident of Sirsa, Haryana. Singh had been evading arrest for nearly a decade while building a successful music career under the assumed identity “Baaz Sran”.
The arrest marks a major breakthrough in NCB CZU Crime No. 14/2015, which involved the seizure of 36.150 kg opium. Singh was declared a proclaimed offender in 2016 and had since managed to stay under the radar by frequently changing his identity and location. In May 2025, NCB intensified its efforts by publishing Singh’s details in leading newspapers and announcing a Rs 50,000 reward for information leading to his capture. Acting on credible inputs received thereafter, the NCB team successfully apprehended him today.
During his time in hiding, Singh gained widespread popularity on platforms like YouTube and Instagram, amassing millions of views for his music videos. His arrest has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and raised serious questions about identity verification and background checks in digital media. NCB officials are continuing their investigation to uncover any possible links between Singh’s music career and drug trafficking operations.
