The transition to monthly billing is part of CPDL’s commitment to modernise its meter reading and billing process. Monthly billing enables regular meter readings, helping consumers track their electricity consumption, manage household or business expenses and avoid bill shocks associated with longer billing cycles.
A CPDL spokesperson said, “From this month, the firm will roll out monthly electricity billing for all domestic and non-residential consumers in Chandigarh, replacing the existing bi-monthly cycle. This move is in line with JERC’s directions. Consumers will also be able to access duplicate bills directly on their mobile phones at no additional cost, making billing more convenient and customer-friendly.”
