Pratigya, Manit best gymnasts

CHANDIGARH:Pratigya Thingnam of Ankur Public School, Sector 14, was named best gymnast of the girls’ U-8 category during the ongoing State Sub-junior Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, held at the Sector 7 Sports Complex, on Friday.

Chandigarh, December 7

Pratigya Thingnam of Ankur Public School, Sector 14, was named best gymnast of the girls’ U-8 category during the ongoing State Sub-junior Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, held at the Sector 7 Sports Complex, on Friday. 

Malhar of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, was named second best, while Ambika Puri of St Kabir School, Sector 26, claimed overall third position.

 Meanwhile, Pratigya won her first gold medal in the freehand catgeory of the rhythmic event. Malhar claimed the second position, while Pridhi Chopra of St Kabir School, Sector 26, and Apoorav of Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, claimed joint third position. 

In ball event, Pratigya won the first position, while Ambika claimed the second spot. Punnyaa of Chitkara International School, Sector 25, and Malhar finished at joint third position.  

Manit Kaur of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, was adjudged best gymnast of U-10 category. Pratibha claimed the second position and Parul of St Kabir School ended her campaign on the third position. In free hand event, Manit, Pratibha and Parul claimed the top three positions, respectively. Manit won her second gold medal in the hoop event, while Mehtaj Kaur of Chitkara International School finished at the second spot. Anvi of Shishu Niketan School, Sector 22, and Anika of Carmel Convent School claimed joint third position. 

Pratibha won the ball event, while Manit and Parul claimed the second and third position, respectively. In clubs event, Pratibha and Sofia Samber of Ankur School claimed the top two positions, respectively. Asees Kaur and Kavya Bansal of Carmel School claimed third position. Parul claimed the gold medal in the ribbon event, while Ritika of Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, claimed the second position. Jassica Singh and Ryhtam both of Ankur School claimed joint third spot.
