Fed up with prolonged power cuts for the past many days, residents of Golden Palm, Bella Homes, Sai Enclave, and VIP Enclave housing societies in Dera Bassi on Saturday night staged a protest outside the Mubarikpur power grid, raising slogans against the PSPCL and Punjab Government for the erratic power supply. They threatened to block the main highway if the problem persisted.

The protesters alleged that for the past four days outages had made their life miserable. Despite repeated calls to PSPCL officials, they did not get any satisfactory response.

Mirpur village residents also took to the streets and vented their anger against the PSPCL. Soon employees arrived and began repairing the infrastructure.
