Panjab University win football tourney

The men’s football team of Panjab University bagged laurels by winning a gold medal in the North Zone Inter-University Tournament at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar.

After completion of the league stage, PU claimed the gold medal for qualifying for the All-India Inter-University Football Tournament with top honours. Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, ended the campaign with silver medal, while Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, finished third, followed by Punjabi University, Patiala, at fourth position. Panjab University topped the league table with nine points from all victories, while Lovely Professional University scored four points. Guru Nanak Dev University got three and Punjabi University one point.
