Pulse polio campaign to be held in high-risk areas

Mohali, September 16

A pulse polio campaign will be undertaken in high-risk areas of polio on September 20.

Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said the Ministry of Home Affairs had allowed a few activities in areas outside the containment zones and allowed essential services in the containment zones.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has provided an exception to conduct a pulse polio programme in the containment zones considering the activity an essential service. The campaign will be carried out in containment zones, buffer and beyond buffer areas. The Pulse Polio Sub National Immunisation Day programme will be undertaken in all identified high-risk areas of polio, including containment zones, as per the Covid guidelines. — TNS
